How long can I carry a cake? Do I need ice packs or an insulated bag?
Please plan on carrying it for about 1 hour. Conditions vary depending on the temperature, the type of cake and how you travel, so if you are planning a long journey, please consult the shop before purchase.

Plan on carrying it for about 1 hour
The guideline we give in store for carrying cakes is about 1 hour. How well items stay cold depends on the outside temperature and the combination of the box and cooling materials. Please don’t assume that “with ice packs, any number of hours is fine.” Instead, please consult us, taking into account the time until the cake can be put in a refrigerator at your home or at the recipient’s.
What to tell us when you consult us
- The type and number of cakes you are buying
- Roughly how long it will be from leaving the shop until the cake goes into a refrigerator
- How you will travel, such as on foot, by train or by car
- Any planned stops on the way, and whether you plan to bring an insulated bag
Please check with the shop before purchase about the availability of ice packs and insulated bags, any charges, and the take-home method suited to your product.
Check the product’s storage instructions too
