Can cakes and baked goods be frozen?
Because ingredients and finishing differ from product to product, we do not state that all cakes and baked goods can be frozen under the same conditions. Please first check each product’s storage instructions and date label. If you plan to freeze a product, please consult the shop before purchasing and tell us the product name.

Please follow the storage method shown for each product
At Cafe & Sweets Parade Kyoto, we give storage instructions for each product. For example, the Linzer torte must be kept refrigerated, and the baked goods gifts should be stored in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures and humidity. Instructions for refrigerated or room-temperature storage do not in themselves indicate whether a product can be frozen or how long it will keep.
Can freezing extend the date shown on the label?
A product’s date assumes that the product is kept unopened and stored in the way indicated. This FAQ cannot guarantee how far the labeled date can be extended if you freeze a product at home.
Once a product has been opened, it will not necessarily maintain the same quality until the labeled date. Before changing how you store a product, please check the product label and the instructions given at the time of purchase.
If you plan to eat it at a later date, please consult us before purchasing
Please let us know the product name, the date you will purchase it, the date you plan to eat it, and whether it is a gift or for yourself at home. You can consult us not only about how long products keep, but also about the pickup date and how to choose among products with different shelf lives.
For how date labels work, you can also refer to the Consumer Affairs Agency’s information on food date labeling.
