A grown-up treat filled with the aroma of browned butter and fragrant rum.
The canelé is a traditional baked sweet handed down in convents of France’s Bordeaux region. Inspired by its fluted, bell-like shape, it was given a name that is the French word meaning “fluted.”
Crisp and toasty on the outside, it is made with high-quality “Sakura” eggs from purely Japanese-bred hens and vanilla, and baked to a gently sweet, soft, and chewy texture inside. Though made from simple ingredients, each one is crafted by hand. We hope you enjoy its carefully crafted flavor.
* We recommend warming it briefly in a toaster oven: the caramelized surface becomes even crisper, bringing the texture and aroma closer to freshly baked!
